About the Instructor

Mrs. Gilleran, Instructor

Susan Gilleran is a dedicated and experienced mathematics educator with a passion for helping students succeed in advanced coursework.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a secondary teaching certificate from Wayne State University, followed by an MBA with a concentration in e-commerce from Lawrence Technological University, along with a postgraduate certificate from the Honeywell Institute of Information Sciences.

Experience and Background

Mrs. Gilleran began her career teaching high school mathematics before moving into the corporate world, where she served as an Information Technology Manager at Ford Motor Company for 30 years.

She later returned to education and taught online AP Calculus AB and BC courses for 16 years with PA Homeschoolers Inc.

Advanced Preparation

Committed to professional growth, Mrs. Gilleran has completed six intensive College Board summer institutes—two focused on AP Calculus AB and four on AP Calculus BC—as well as two additional AP Calculus BC workshops.

She brings together academic expertise, real-world experience, and enthusiasm for teaching in a way that helps students feel both challenged and supported.

Teaching Philosophy

Students do their best when they are expected to think carefully, work consistently, and understand the ideas behind the mathematics. This course is designed to build strong habits, deep understanding, and the confidence students need for college-level work.
